We are seeking a mid-level Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial (C&I) solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage projects in the Cape Town region. The Project Manager will manage projects from development through to completion, coordinating all phases from planning and design to construction and commissioning. These projects typically range from 200 kW to 5 MW in capacity. The role is ideal for candidates with 3–5 years of project management experience in renewable energy and a strong technical engineering background.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of solar PV and battery energy storage projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards.

Develop detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

Oversee on-site installation and construction, ensuring compliance with technical design, safety, and quality standards.

Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to stay on track.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Provide regular progress updates and address concerns.

Coordinate with regulatory bodies, utilities, and inspectors to obtain permits and ensure regulatory compliance.

Assist with project tenders and commercial documentation for new bids.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout all phases.

Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on all project sites.

Oversee testing, commissioning, and final project handover to clients.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).

PMP or equivalent project management certification is advantageous.

3–5 years of project management experience in solar PV and/or battery storage projects.

Strong technical understanding of solar PV and battery systems, including grid integration.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and methodologies.

Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Registration with SACPCMP or ECSA is a plus.

Willingness to travel to project sites; valid driver’s license required.
