Job Description

Introduction

We’re looking for a dynamic IPP Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of our clients utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.

You’ll manage and oversee all phases of planning and execution for our utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality standards.
Facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders, including EPC contractors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), O&M providers, owners' engineers, and third-party consultants, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
Monitor project budgets and timelines, proactively identifying and addressing any deviations. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders regarding project progress, challenges, and overall performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the construction and operations teams for renewable energy projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations, managing contractual notices, and handling disputes and arbitration matters in collaboration with the Head of EPC and Legal Counsel.

You will play a key role in reviewing and analyzing project schedules, identifying critical path items, and working closely with contractors to minimize delays. Additionally, you will oversee cost management by coordinating with the construction team, owners' engineers, and lenders to ensure milestone payments are met and contractor claims are properly managed.

You will support the procurement process, negotiating contract terms and leading procurement activities during both construction and operations. Ensuring that quality management standards are maintained throughout the project's lifecycle will also be a key responsibility, as well as monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) risks with the project HSE team.

Reporting will be a critical part of the role, as you will coordinate with the project team to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports for all stakeholders. You will also assist in the recruitment and management of resources, providing leadership on EPC and O&M contractual matters.
Risk management will be a significant focus, as you will identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks across health, safety, finance, schedule, quality, and environmental factors. Effective communication of these risks to stakeholders is crucial to proactively managing potential issues.

This is a high-impact role that requires a strategic mindset, excellent leadership, and strong project management skills to ensure the successful execution of complex renewable energy projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
  • Project Management qualification (PMP) or similar certification
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Project Manager in the power generation sector, with a preference for renewable energy
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on site experience in the Engineering or Construction industry
  • Experience in risk management and/or change management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Projects
  • Familiarity with other project management software tools
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to solve problems, make decisions, and manage conflicts effectively. They will thrive under pressure, balancing multiple complex tasks while maintaining attention to detail and a methodical approach. Adaptable and team-oriented, they will build and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring collaboration and project success. Their analytical mindset, flexibility, and focus on high-quality results will drive performance and foster productive outcomes in challenging situations.
