Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Field Service / Commissioning Engineer to support the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of LV and MV electrical systems across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
This role is site-based and requires strong technical capability in electrical equipment, control systems, and communication networks to ensure systems are safely commissioned and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Commissioning
- Perform testing, commissioning, and energisation of LV/MV systems including transformers, switchgear, cables, and distribution boards
- Execute functional, protection, and system integration testing on electrical and control systems
- Conduct diagnostics and fault-finding on electrical and automation systems including protection relays and MV panels
- Verify installations against design drawings, specifications, and standards
Equipment & Systems
- Work on:
- MV/LV Transformers
- MV Switchgear (AIS/GIS)
- LV Boards / MCCs
- MV & LV Cables
- Protection Relays (IEDs)
- RTUs & SCADA systems
- Industrial Network Switches
- Configure and test IEDs, RTUs, and communication networks (IEC protocols advantageous)
Installation & Site Work
- Support installation, modification, and commissioning activities on-site
- Perform assembly, wiring checks, and pre-commissioning inspections
- Assist with repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of electrical equipment
Reporting & Documentation
- Compile commissioning reports, test sheets, and punch lists
- Record and track faults, deviations, and corrective actions
- Provide technical feedback to engineering and design teams
Client & Project Support
- Interface directly with clients, contractors, and project teams
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting on-site
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulations
Minimum Requirements
- B.Tech / BEng / NDip in Electrical Engineering
- 2 – 5 years’ experience in:
- Testing & commissioning
- Field service / site-based electrical work
- Exposure to LV/MV systems and substation environments
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Power distribution systems
- Protection schemes and relay logic
- Electrical drawings (SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams)
- Experience with:
- Commissioning tools & test equipment
- Fault finding and root cause analysis
- Advantageous:
- SCADA / RTU configuration
- Networking (Ethernet, IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3)

Additional Requirements
