We’re looking for a skilled and driven C&I Solar Installation Team Lead to take charge of AC-side installation work on commercial and industrial solar PV projects. In this role, you’ll lead from the front—guiding a team of technicians on-site, ensuring precision in execution, and upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. From project kickoff through commissioning, you’ll bring structure, momentum, and excellence to every phase.

Key Responsibilities

• • Supervise and participate in the installation of solar PV systems according to engineering design plans.
  • Enforce all safety requirements and company procedures throughout the installation process.
  • Assists in all aspects of the installation, from mounting hardware to electrical connections, with attention to quality and care.
  • Conduct and verify quality checks, complete test commissioning, and resolve on-site technical issues.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers: plan installation schedules, conduct pre-installation site visits, and verify material lists.
  • Ensure availability and calibration of tools, test equipment, and safety gear.
  • Ensure all work adheres to SANS electrical codes and OHSA safety standards.
  • Complete post-installation paperwork, including daily progress reports and timesheets.
  • Account for all tools and equipment used on site.
  • Provide constructive feedback and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Required Qualifications

• Trade-tested Installation Electrician (Red Seal)
• 5+ years’ hands-on electrical experience, including at least 3 years in solar PV installations (AC side focus).
• A valid 3-phase Wireman’s License and hands-on experience issuing Certificates of Compliance (COCs) for single- and three-phase systems will be a significant advantage. will be a

• In-depth knowledge of SANS 10142-1 electrical codes and OHSA safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.

Introduction

We are seeking a Site Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of large-scale commercial and industrial solar PV projects across South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily site operations, enforcing high safety standards, ensuring quality compliance, and keeping projects within schedule and budget.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with a strong background in construction site management, ideally with experience in renewable energy projects. An electrical qualification will be advantageous, but proven experience in site supervision of technical projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of solar PV installation projects on site, from site preparation to commissioning.
• Coordinate and supervise all site personnel, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure productivity and adherence to project plans.
• Conduct daily site meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and company HSE policies.
• Oversee installation activities, quality assurance inspections, and enforce adherence to project specifications, SANS standards, and engineering designs.
• Manage site budgets and resource usage; monitor costs, control material wastage, and track labor efficiency to keep projects within financial targets.
• Maintain and update all project documentation, including site diaries, progress reports, incident reports, inspection checklists, and variation orders.
• Act as the on-site liaison between project management, clients, regulatory bodies, and local authorities.
• Identify risks, delays, and non-conformances early and implement corrective actions to maintain project momentum.
• Support final commissioning activities, quality inspections, and handover processes, including compliance certifications.
• Ensure full compliance with any municipal, utility, and regulatory requirements for grid connections and PV system registrations.
• Foster local community relations and promote local employment initiatives where applicable

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (advantageous).
• Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal), Wireman’s License, or similar electrical qualification (advantageous but not required).
• 3–7 years' proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor in construction projects, preferably in the renewable energy or electrical installation sectors.
• Strong background in supervising multi-disciplinary installation teams on commercial or industrial solar PV projects.
• Experience working with South African safety and labour regulations
• Strong leadership, site coordination, safety management, and reporting skills.
• Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel, physically fit for rooftop work.
