Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled and driven C&I Solar Installation Team Lead to take charge of AC-side installation work on commercial and industrial solar PV projects. In this role, you’ll lead from the front—guiding a team of technicians on-site, ensuring precision in execution, and upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. From project kickoff through commissioning, you’ll bring structure, momentum, and excellence to every phase.

Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and participate in the installation of solar PV systems according to engineering design plans.
    • Enforce all safety requirements and company procedures throughout the installation process.
    • Assists in all aspects of the installation, from mounting hardware to electrical connections, with attention to quality and care.
    • Conduct and verify quality checks, complete test commissioning, and resolve on-site technical issues.
    • Coordinate closely with Project Managers: plan installation schedules, conduct pre-installation site visits, and verify material lists.
    • Ensure availability and calibration of tools, test equipment, and safety gear.
    • Ensure all work adheres to SANS electrical codes and OHSA safety standards.
    • Complete post-installation paperwork, including daily progress reports and timesheets.
    • Account for all tools and equipment used on site.
    • Provide constructive feedback and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Trade-tested Installation Electrician (Red Seal)
  • 5+ years’ hands-on electrical experience, including at least 3 years in solar PV installations (AC side focus).
  • A valid 3-phase Wireman’s License and hands-on experience issuing Certificates of Compliance (COCs) for single- and three-phase systems will be a significant advantage. will be a
  • Proven track record of leading on-site teams and delivering C&I solar projects safely and on schedule.
  • In-depth knowledge of SANS 10142-1 electrical codes and OHSA safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
